The Birth of a Hybrid

It was during the winter of 1803 when I was summoned to my uncle’s castle in Eastern Europe.

When I arrived there were many vampires there, most I knew but some were strangers to me, one woman stood out she was very striking with light blond hair and grey blue eyes she smiled and approached me she offered her hand and introduced herself to me as Baroness Angel Brastov, we stood chatting for some time, then my Uncle approached and asked me to join him in his study he turned to face me and said my nephew you have been summoned here for a reason for I have something which I hope you can do.

After a long pause he looked at me and said you are a powerful vampire because you also bear the power of the wolf and are that rare creature know as a hybrid am I correct, I nodded and said yes you are correct.

We stood again in silence for what seemed hours but in fact was a very short time, he took a deep breath and said ok I would like you to perform a ceremony of turning on the Baroness she is looking to increase our Bloodline strength and becoming a hybrid could do just that.

I stood rooted to the spot at his words and eventually managed to speak, you wish me to give this woman the gift of becoming hybrid? You realise her blood may not accept it and she could actually die, before I was turned my blood was checked to see if I could withstand the attack because as you are aware the bite of a werewolf can prove fatal to a vampire, he nodded and said that he had carried out tests on her blood and everything seemed to be ok, has the dangers been pointed out to her, Yes your Uncle was very explicit about the dangers I turned not realising she had entered the room I am just concerned for your safety.

She smiled and said thank you but I am prepared to take the risk, I told her that once I started there would be no turning back and that if she survived the first part the chances of her making it was increased, She smiled and said I’m prepared.

We agreed to perform the ceremony at midnight in the grand hall.

We arrived to see all the relatives gathered there to witness the event, she entered the circle in a stunning black dress her blond hair cascading across her shoulders, I then addressed her and said Baroness are you prepared to accept this gift I offer you knowing that it may kill you if is not compatible with your blood. She looked up and said I accept the consequences. I stood in the circle and closed my eyes forcing myself to change to my wolf form I dropped to my knees as i felt my bones shifting and my skin changing, I stood up as my transformation completed amidst gasps from the audience at my height and obvious power, my eyes blazed and a deep growl emitted from my mouth, Baroness remove your dress and stand before me, she undid her dress and stood naked before me I growled and swung my claw across her body ripping deep into her pale skin she screamed and I saw the deep scores in her body the blood flowing from those terrible wounds, her knees buckled and she started to fall I grabbed her and again I returned to my vampire form, I quickly bit her neck and pulled her to me and told her to bite me I felt her fangs bite into my flesh and she drank from me, I looked down and smiled as I saw the wounds healing I knew that she was going to be ok I picked up a cloak and covered her body, she opened her eyes and steadied herself against me.

Several minutes passed and she was standing unaided I said now you need to learn the change we all went outside to the courtyard and in the moonlight I instructed her on what to do, she closed her eyes sank to her knees and we watched her transformation, she stood up her grey fur glistening in the moonlight a low growl came from her and she tossed her head back and howled into the night sky, A Hybrid was born.
